Baking chocolate

Some businesses and products stand the test of time – even when that time is well over 100 years old. KH Direct Media examines the oldest American companies and the products which live forever.

A quick glance in the medicine chest or bathroom closet might some of the longest lasting products known today. Caswell-Massey, founded in 1772, make the finest and more pure soap. Its pear soap which is glycerin-based, is one such product from the company that fans still swear by 263 years alter.

More home bakers use this one product to make everything taste richer and with more chocolate flavor than any other. Baker’s Chocolate, founded in 1765, began selling it branded chocolate in 1780. It eventually grew into more than just a baking ingredient by selling unsweetened cocoa powders, sweet chocolate, candy-making chocolate and flavored chocolate bars.  It is still a pantry staple 263 years later.

A well-dressed man will more than likely have if not one, but several shirts and suits in his closet with this name on the tag – Brooks Brothers. KH Direct Media notes that this is the oldest clothing retailer in America. The first store opened in 1849 debuting its first ready-made suits. In 1896, their famous button down polo shirt was introduced. Today, there are 250 American stores and 250 international locations.

The oldest American companies stood the test of time for hundred of years because their products were made well and were able to stand the test of time too. Great products made well never go away. They are distributed across the world so others can enjoy the benefits of them.
